PHEC Syndicate Meeting held to Promote Research, Innovation & Pitch Fest Across Punjab
The Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) recently held an important syndicate meeting focused on strengthening the culture of research, innovation, and student entrepreneurship across the province. The session, chaired under the direction of the Minister of Higher Education Punjab, Rana Sikandar Hayat, brought together Vice Chancellors from various universities to discuss upcoming initiatives—particularly the expansion of the Research, Innovation & Pitch Fest across Punjab.
This meeting highlighted the government’s commitment to empowering students, researchers, and young innovators through structured opportunities that encourage idea development, startup creation, and academic excellence.
Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat Calls for Pitch Fest in All Universities
During the meeting, Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat issued a clear directive to all Vice Chancellors present—physically and online—to actively host the Research, Innovation & Pitch Fest within their respective universities. The purpose of this event is to provide a creative, competitive platform where students can present high-potential ideas, research projects, and entrepreneurial concepts.
The Minister emphasized that innovation-driven activities must not remain limited to a few institutions; instead, the Pitch Fest should take place across all public and private universities in Punjab. To streamline planning, he instructed Vice Chancellors to coordinate directly with Syed Aun Shah, who is responsible for the event’s execution, scheduling, and structure.
Each university will finalize its date, venue, and internal framework in collaboration with Aun Shah, ensuring smooth organization and maximum student involvement.
Hybrid Participation of Vice Chancellors
The syndicate meeting was attended by several Vice Chancellors physically, while many others joined through Zoom, ensuring full participation despite geographical limitations. This hybrid format demonstrated PHEC’s commitment to inclusivity and effective communication.
The presence of senior academic leadership reflects the importance of the agenda and the collective vision to uplift Punjab’s higher education landscape.
